3 Closed Conditions is a site-specific installation made for the first exhibition at NICC’s new exhibition space. The interior modifications needed to adapt the space to its new function as an exhibition hall had wiped away the building’s visual history.
The wooden panels highlight three openings in the floor which were closed as part of the reconstructions. The taped laser prints on the wooden panels depict the closed-off sections in the floor as seen from underneath by entering the space below through an elevator shaft.
